I have a new pattern for you! A sweet, simple, very beginner-friendly stitch, perfect for the holiday season and wintery months. This lovely muted wreath uses all basic stitches: stem stitch, leaf stitch, French knots, straight stitch, and bullion knots.
You can find step-by-step tutorials for all those stitches in the Stitch Library but they are now also included with every PDF pattern purchase in a hand-dandy “Embroidery Guide”, which features over 20 stitch tutorials + all the basic info you need to get started and prepare your project.
Head on over to the shop and have a look!
If you dread bullion knots, fear not.
I have a post here about an awesome hack I discovered to make them more manageable, although I do have to say that with time and practice, I do quite like this stitch now and love doing it the traditional way.
You can also swap the bullion knots for woven wheel roses and it will look equally beautiful.
I hope you enjoy stitching this new pattern! It was wonderful to create and works perfectly as a Christmas card. I hope to have a little card-making tutorial available for you soon! It’s such a lovely way of featuring and using up embroideries.
Anything else you’d like to see around here? New patterns, tutorials, what to do with finished pieces, new projects featuring embroidery that aren’t just hoop art? Let me know!
Anne
